Crypt Iguana chronicles life in the historic Key West Cemetery in Key West, Florida from the perspective of one of the hundreds of nonnative Green Iguanas that inhabit the area. The project is both a tribute to and spoof of classic sci-fi and fantasy stories that employ man vs. nature tropes, seeking to tap into the deep-seated fears humans attach to the natural world. An ancillary reading room installation by Sarah Welch was created alongside this comic and exhibited at the art space, Antenna, in New Orleans, LA in 2019.
