Did you know that pitcher plants are native to Texas, specifically in the sandy soils of the Piney Woods and Big Thicket National Preserve? These plants survive poor soil conditions by attracting and ensnaring insects. In the case of the pitcher plant, insects enter from the top of the plant, only to find themselves trapped within!
At the base of the plant, a very demure and mindful frog lies in wait, ready for her next mosquito snack.
We ship all items from our home studio here in Houston, Texas via USPS Ground Advantage. On a print like this, we ship flat in a glassine bag packaged inside multiple sheets of cardboard.
